FOR THE LOVE OF CO-OP COMMUNICATIONS

We’re Casey and Rachel. We met a few years ago through our jobs as the Director of Communications & Marketing at the Michigan Electric Cooperative Association and the Member Relations Manager at Cherryland Electric Cooperative in Grawn, MI.

What started as two colleagues working together evolved into two co-op communications junkies with a shared goal – making electric co-op communications more strategic, and by extension, more savvy.

We know enough to know what we don’t know. So, we hope this becomes a community of engaged co-op communicators who we can learn from and who learn from each other.

A LITTLE MORE ABOUT US

CASEY CLARK
CASEY CLARKEternal Optimist. Techie. Challenge Seeker.
I am a learning fanatic. Once I’ve mastered something I tend to get bored with it, so I am constantly on the lookout for new ideas and things to learn. One of my favorite quotes is “When you’re green, you grow. When you’re ripe, you rot.”

I’m slightly obsessed with using data and strategy to create measurably effective communications programs. I am a firm believer that communicators should drive outcome, not activity. And for me, nothing beats getting to interact with enthusiastic communicators who feel the same way!

RACHEL JOHNSON
RACHEL JOHNSONLifelong Learner. Fast Talker. Co-op Junkie.
I’m a digital girl living in a digital world. I love social media because it’s fast-moving and constantly changing.

I’m a doer not a talker. And, I love doing communications in new and innovative ways. I’ve always strived to work for organizations and industries I believe in. And, with the electric cooperatives I feel like I’ve finally found my tribe. I am #coopproud!

At the end of my career, I hope I can look back and say that I devoted myself to a worthy cause, that I achieved many successes, and that when I failed I did so while daring greatly.
